That's my 10x GGF. Tom was executed on Feb 14th because his wife was Kinborough Valentine. After the execution, she brought her three children to Sir Henry Lee, who refused them charity. Kinborough killed herself. The children, Martha, Margaret and William were set to work at The Lilies, home of Anne Vavasour. In Sir Henry's will, he leaves 'half the contents of the house to the straff' who happen to be his cousin's children. The children are each baptised Anglican on their 18th birthday. St. Mary's Hardwick register has their baptism. "Wllm Ley, Father Tho" is all that is entered in 1611.

Thomas' real surname was Ley. Benedict Ley, his father's burial is at Granborough, in 1559, in large script. Benet was Captain of the Royal guard to King Edward, who granted him Byggyng Hall as a retirement gift.

Benet's father was Sir Robert Lee of Aston Abbotts. Benet was half brother of Sir Francis Knollys. Family in-joke is they started Frankies and Benny's.

Quite a interesting read! I’m in this time span and region in my family history work, so it’s doubly interesting to get some extra context.
